Learning Japanese - Month 2

This month is coming to an end which marks the start of month 3 - learning Japanese.

This last week, I have been expanding my vocabulary, focusing on learning words rather than grammar rules and sentence forming. In hindsight, it was a bad idea, but it seems to be working out for me. Now I know over 80 words!

Yes, I have some gaps in my knowledge. Sometimes, I confuse beautiful (うつくし) with attractive, cool (かっこいい), but I believe if I just keep hammering my brain with Japanese, these little things will go away on their own.

I do have to admit, I have been slacking in the second week of July. My Aliexpress order arrived and I was thrilled. So thrilled, I forgot about Japanese altogether. Thanks to the fact renshuu doesn't send you annoying daily notifications, I was able to actually focus on what I was doing rather than studying Japanese all day every day. Keep in mind, I'm studying Japanese because I can, not because I'm particularly interested in their culture or anything. (And I also want to sing in Japanese without screwing up tough lyrics like "Nagusamesasete" or whatever.)

There definitely was a time when I was super into anime and anything with Japan, but those days are gone now. I'm simply learning because I can and see it as a fun challenge.
